I had a much clearer view of manic-depression after reading this book, although I also found it more frightening than before.

Ler esse livro foi reconfortante e ao mesmo tempo dolorido, mas principalmente foi bom ler a descrição de coisas que sinto que eu to inventando, foi bom me sentir validada e com esperança

I loved the dual perspective of psychiatrist and patient, and found it extremely interesting for myself, as someone with Bipolar II disorder. While I may not experience near as severe of manic-depressive episodes as Jamison, I still resonated greatly with aspects of her story. Overall an excellent read, will read again whenever I need to ground myself or remind myself that my illness is, indeed, manageable.

An Unquiet Mind is good for those not expecting very much. I feel that the author skimmed a lot of the details of things that happened to her. It was hard to relate at most points. I ran through the ending and decided to just mentally give this author a high five.

Eloquent and beautifully written book, it’s almost like reading a magical collection of poetry and prose. The writing sucks you in and you are kept engaged. Powerfully empathizing piece of literature, really gives you a look into the life of someone with bipolar disorder as well as that of a psychologist with mental illness. This book is also about love, and the support that those who love us give us. If you like romances, this will be a very good book for you too. Very much fairytale romance-esque at times. Amazing memoir.

I really loved this, and it was super cool& interesting to see mania from the perspective of not only someone w more experience in the field, but somebody who experienced it as an adult, rather than starting in young childhood. I loved the way she wrote, though at times I struggled, and it was just beautiful all around
