OKAY I DID NOT EXPECT LEGOSHI TO EAT LOUIS' LEG AFTER ALL HIS MEAT TRAINING BUT OKAY. I am not complaining that was such a twist that really pushed the story forward.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Louis and him becoming more fleshed out with emotional (and traumatic) depth. Ibuki's death, while I wasn't particularly attached to the character, broke my heart because the writing in the chapters leading and including was so packed with love and bonding between him and Louis, I was like NOOO HE CAN'T BE DEAD! Being attached to Louis in turn made me want the best for Ibuki... Not to mention the art in that specific scene was so... chefs kiss.... It was so tense! So beautiful! So sad!

Louis is just. He went from that annoying high school bitch I really did not like into this poor baby I want to hug.

The pacing in this volume is immaculate. The fight between Riz and Legoshi extended throughout the whole volume really made such an energetic and action-packed scene easier to digest. Oddly enough, I was stressed about the fight, because consuming high-action media makes me anxious sometimes (why am I reading Beastars you ask? It's too good, I can't leave). Having chapters of physical altercation split with softer, more emotional, but still effective chapters left enough breathing room.

This whole volume though was very intense compared to some previous ones.

I can also see why fans ship Legoshi and Louis now...
