"Every form of destruction requires its own individual techniques."

I sat on the edge of my seat. I laughed at the absurdity of Colonel Nicholson. And spent more time than I'd like trying to wrap my brain around page-long sentences. A great book to read and ponder. Though I felt as if I was watching a movie that kept alternating between fast-forward and slow-motion.

Dnf early on. It's boring and highly racist. I don't have the energy with this one to fight the 21st century mindset away to actually try to enjoy the tale.

I had just visited the River Kwai War Museum so was inspired to read this book. A well told story that provided a vivid overview of the times, the character of the soldiers and the operation.

Lento, quasi come la costruzione di quel ponte. Si riprende un po' nel finale ma non basta per le 4 stelle. Peccato, davvero peccato.
