2.5! Not terrible, but not for me. I like my sci-fi subtle and these stories felt too stereotypical.

I think Ling Ma and Julia Armfield have done a good job at writing futuristic narratives that feel human, even while incorporating cliches like robots, spaceships, viruses, etc. This collection lacked that dose of familiarity that takes sci-fi from predictable to eery.

Short stories set in an unsettling future, Bora Chung makes you thinks and keeps you on your toes. The last story, and the afterword moved me tremendously.

The book is a series of short stories about dystopia and science-related what ifs. There are some jargon involved but overly interesting. There is horror, and provided stories with differing perspectives.
