Silver Eve celebrations have begun and the group are at the festival. There is more discovered about the Knights and the friends. Though where there is light, there is darkness. Some of the new information is makes my heart race.

Reminding myself this is literally tweens battling centuries old rules put in place by people who wanted to consolidate power if on one hand for safety then on another to exclude the common man from things they could benefit from. The rules are so strict they are bound to be broken, only for any possible growth to be immediately wiped away.

It was interesting to have an interlude focused on the security branch of magic and their history - as unfortunate and painful as it was (content warnings for sexual assault). It got incredibly real in a way I did not expect for this series but I like how we are not shying away from any underbelly that should be exposed.

Honestly this rating is for chapter 49, 51 alone. Either of these single chapters could get 5 stars.

I appreciated the content warning and while it is entirely possible to skip the chapter and have the overall main story unchanged, chapter 49 handles sexual abuse and victim blaming in such a great way. It’s refreshing because so often anime and manga really makes the ‘perv’ character some one for comic relief or the one who creates scenes for fan service. So to have this manga straight up say “peeping is sexual assault.” Yes! I hate that I have to be so positive but the whole story in this chapter is a realistic portrayal of many peoples experience and I just thought it was explored in a good way.

Chapter 51 has some big big plot moments and the art is stunning. I love when characters are drawn all scary and crazy, this manga is no exception.
