This volume has lots going on, from the start of the Silver Eve festival to the introduction of the King of Ezrest and the Three Wise witches together. The standout moment for me was the chapter on the Knight of Moralis Luluci's backstory, and how the author handled the issue of peeping as an active form of sexual assault that must be punished just as any other form of sexual assault. It was refreshing to see the harm that victims suffer from acts such as voyeurism not be downplayed, and to see the importance of consent talked about. It also goes deeper into the morality of the rules of the Day of the Pact, and whether it is okay to lie to civilians about magic and its supposed limitations. Coco and Tartah show so much development as they struggle to reconcile the two conflicting sides of the argument and I can't wait to see what they eventually do about it.

Another wonderful volume. Nothing warms my spirit more than the adventures of Coco & Co. This volume felt like it was setting up a lot of big things for volume 10. I loved all of the imaginative and beautiful contraptions at the festival, and learning more about witch culture and witch-human relations.

There is a clear content warning for sexual assault and victim blaming in one chapter, so watch out for that. The chapter can be skipped and does not affect the greater plot if you do skip it.
