The illustrations are good in a classic-comic way and the concept is interesting, but the mystery is pretty transparent and I couldn't get invested in the characters. Everyone is a hard-boiled trope (not even very true to their fairy tale origins, just general literary tropes), so I'm not interested to continue the series.

I'll start this review with saying I am not normally a graphic novel reader, but this was a good one. It's definitely adult content for fairytales, so keep that in mind! It was a simple, overdone plot but getting to know the characters was fun. I'll most likely continue on reading the series since they are such quick reads. But I won't be jumping at it anytime soon. I'd rather focus my reading time on other books. I recommend this to any fantasy, fairytale fan.
