Xeni on her own is funny. Mason on his own is funny. But the two of them together? Absolutely hilarious. They had the most natural chemistry I’ve ever seen between two character. I was also delightfully surprised that both MCs are
bisexual; rarely do you ever seen a bisexual male lead
and that our leading man Mason was plus sized. That kind of rep is really lacking, especially in romance so I was really happy about that. This was a really enjoyable read and I wholeheartedly recommend it.

I really liked both Xeni and Mason as main characters. They were lovable and honest about what they wanted. Mason was so sweet to Xeni from the get go and overall a great guy. There was one line in the last ten minutes of this book that made me literally laugh out loud because Mason is the best.

This book also gets real wild, real quick. As I mentioned, I listened to it and when I got to hour 6 of 7 I was thinking I accidentally started a different book. I am a very new romance reader so I would say this is a 4/5 on the steam level because there's a plot and I think level 5 is when you get into basically no plot. I'll have to revisit the level on the Friends 2 Lover podcast but this was more steamy than I was expecting. Definitely don't choose this as your first romance ever or recommend this to your grandma.

Having an old, British man as the narrator for all characters was a weird choice for this book. I didn't love the accent he did for Mason because I thought it made him come off as dumb. Similarly, I thought his accent for Xeni made her come off as ditzy. It was extremely weird during the steamy parts, too. This is only my third book on audio so maybe I'm just not used to it but I wish that they had chosen multiple narrators.

 - Everybody was right, this book is so good! Xeni is a fantastic heroine, giving as good as she gets while also being a truly loving and thoughtful person, and Mason is just the same.
- I thought this modern twist on the marriage of convenience trope was so delightful. The premise is ridiculous and every character in the book knows it and rolls with it.
- Additionally, both leads are bisexual, and they have some good discussions about biphobia. I loved that even though they were a hetero couple they were still openly queer, and have some wonderfully queer and fulfilling sex, too.
