I think this is my new favorite SJM book. Everything about this was amazing. I loved all the characters, the relationships, the world, the conflict. Bryce and Hunt are everything to me I love them so much.

i held off reading this book for a long time because i wanted to preserve my sjm content until her next book, but since she announced the sequel to this one, i finally got the will to finish it.

so here we are, finally caught up with the world of sarah j maas. finished with throne of glass, acotar, and now caught up to crescent city.

let me tell you, the start of first crescent city book was very slow, a whole 100 whooping pages of world building that got thrown in my face. this book was not slow at all, there were things happening in every chapter, and i had to indulge in every bit of information that got thrown in each chapter. the books of crescent city hold little pieces of a puzzle that can only be seen fully to the end.

i loved the narratives in this book. it reminded me of throne of glass series where we get to be in different characters’ perspectives. i think it played a big role in my love for each of the characters’ and it really makes me sympathize for each one.

on the other hand, the plot in this book is jaw dropping and crazy. if i didn’t spoil myself on a few things, i believe i would’ve appreciated a lot more from the plot or the twists and turns sjm had out for us, but alas, i have a weakness to spoilers.

let me tell you, the ending was very much giving me the same feelings as the end of empire of storms or the end of mist and fury. i absolutely hate sjm for bringing upon the biggest cliffhangers to cliffhanger ever. how could she do this again? it’s fine because the next book is coming out in less than six months, but i still just can’t fathom how the story’s going to play out.

let’s just say the sjm universe is bigger than i initially thought it was

I am trying to process the ending and failing miserably to do so. this book will become a classic for future generations to come. the ending has made me incapable of forming coherent thoughts. i love you sarah j maas.

i’m torn with this review because it took so long for me to get into this one that i was able to put it down for 2 months and not think about it. but then i picked it back up and read 500 pages in 2 days so
