Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

Although this was super predictable as the prologue gave too much away but I still enjoyed the book. I know I might be in the minority but I really liked Fern, our protagonist and I was rooting for her through out the book. I tried so hard to feel bad for Alice but I just couldn't, but I was bummed about Rory since he was my second favorite character.

And damn, that epilogue, I was NOT expecting it.

So looks like there's going to be a sequel and might be where dear Fern goes down (I secretly hope she wins again lol), and I can't wait for it.

Bit of a slow burn, but it held my attention well, and the ending was unexpected! I really enjoyed it

3.5 out of 5.

I bought this series thinking I was going to really like these books. After reading this one, I don’t know how I really feel about this book. I didn’t hate it, but I also didn’t love it as much as I thought I would.

All I can say about Fern is that she is a person I hope to never cross paths with. She’s methodical, lacks empathy, and you never know if you’re getting her true authentic self or if it’s all for show.

Drew….the infidelity makes me mad. I will never understand why people cheat. He moved 200 miles to be closer to his mistress to try and pick up where they left off even after she said no and stopped replying to his messages after she moved away is a little creepy to me. Last but not least, he never gave Fern enough credit to figure out he’s been cheating on her… let alone be the one to plot his death. Idiot sandwich.

The only thing Alice is guilty of is cheating on her husband. She tried to be better, for Rory’s sake but temptation got the best of her. She didn’t deserve to be sentenced 20 years in jail for a crime she didn’t commit.

And Rory - at the end of it all, was just a pawn that Fern had no problem taking care of. He should have never looked for Fern and swapped numbers with her. His marriage was getting better and he just had to listen to Fern and play with fire.

Overall this book was an easy read. Although I wasn’t wowed, I’m interested to see how the second book goes.

El estilo de narración, siendo el 3er libro del autor que he leído, resulta repetitivo, los personajes sólo cambian de nombre, pero se repite el mismo esquema.

Awesome Story

Another great book by Daniel Hurst. I was drawn in right from the start. Kept me interested all the way through. Couldn’t wait to see what happened. Brilliant read as always!
