Do you hate how disney princesses will fall in love in a day? Read this. Most of the book is the two MCs falling in love and learning about each other. It is not short nor is it action packed. It about the romance between these two and the way they overcome dark parts of their past. Most of the book was just the hurt/comfort trope.
I wanted to like it more but that 10% toward the end where no one wanted to address the fact that taking away pretty much all of Enzo's agency was not the right way to go. And they all just wanted to fight over Enzo and his happiness while disregarding him also didn't sit well. Fiore included. I wish there was more character development and growth for those besides Fiore, especially since his moment of triumph came at Enzo's expense and loss of agency rather than a moment where they trusted each other enough to let Fiore take the duel anyway.
Anyway, the end is good and positive and at least satisfying.

About 3/4 of the way through this book, I flipped from finding the relationship between Fiore and Enzo adorable to oppressive. I’m not even sure I can point to it - beyond a certain amount of recreating sickroom drama every time Fiore was doing fine - but I found that Fiore grew and changed while Enzo just…was. And kept being. And in some ways gets worse about making choices for Fiore and that just frustrated me. I do wonder if I just wanted a more tightly edited book or a different one than I got.

Don't like the writing style - too fairytalish.
