Just like Sagers other books I've read - this was nothing short of amazing! The entire book keeps you guessing up until the very last 3 pages and then BAM! You're hit with a truth you never saw coming. You think you know what's happened, how it happened, etc... but trust me when I saw, as someone who reads A LOT of mystery/thriller books... I didn't see this ending... And I am HERE FOR IT! I love when I'm unable to guess the plot line, it makes it all the more enjoyable.

The author also describes the environment so vividly that you feel like you are there at Camp Nightingale with the girls. It has that creepy, deep woods vibe that I love reading about. I would 10/10 recommend this read!

i wish the twist wasn’t revealed in the second person. i didn’t like the second person chapters. it took away from the impact.

this was fun! i’ve enjoyed sager’s other books more, though.

Two truths and a lie…

One - Riley Sager’s mind is terrifying and brilliant and mysterious place with twists and turns that will leave up at night wondering what genius he’ll come up with next.

Two - The surprises in this book will leave you jaw-dropped and researching which of Sager’s books you’ll read next.

Three - I don’t want to re-read this from the beginning right this very second.

Riley Sager is a thriller/mystery genius. I couldn’t put this one down. After having read a few of his books, i thought I had his literally twists figured out. I *knew* what happened. Or did I? No. I was wrong. And wow. The ending literally has me reeling.

CW: Mental Illness, gaslighting, ableism, alcoholism, disordered eating, body shaming/fatphobia, murder, death, bullying, violence, blood, toxic friendship, suicide attempt, grief, cancer/terminal illness, some sexual content

I'm not necessarily entirely happy with the mental illness rep, but overall, I really enjoyed this. that ending, I swear. I love Riley Sager's writing and I'm so glad I finally got to this one.

Had a great time listening to this as an audio book - was taken in and lost in the world of the camp. The narration and writing style were both excellent. Well done twists and turns that didn’t feel contrived or added just to surprise or confuse.

Not sure if it was the audiobook narrator's voice and affectation, or if it was the main character, or the plot (or all three), but wow, this disappointed me. I rounded up to three stars for gripping suspense, but the twists didn't do it for me and frankly just annoyed me. This book also features some pretty offensive and outdated mental illness stereotypes, which particularly bothered me because I felt the author was genuinely trying to be respectful.

Sager’s work is so confusing to me. he can write incredible stories and he can write terrible stories with good ideas. this happened to be an incredible story. i could be biased because i LOVE summer camp horror stuff but i was intrigued the entire time. The plot twist was so interesting. I still have a slight problem with the way he write women sometimes but i did enjoy this book.

First Riley Sager and I really enjoyed this. Was gripping from the beginning and was an enjoyable read. Theo is just 🤤😮‍💨. But I must say the ending was a little bit wild for me. I would have like a bit more explanation than that.
