I really enjoyed how dark this book was. I was very concerned going into this that the author would go soft on the horror aspect of this book bit they definitely didn't. This book was definitely dark and visceral. I can't say I enjoyed this exactly (and I'm not sure you're meant to) but I was definitely sucked into the story. I absolutely can not wait for this to come out so I can gush about it to all my customers.

DNF: 75% Completed (audiobook)

First, if you have issues with religion and religious trauma this may not be the one for you. Additionally, there is much abuse of all kinds.

I read horror, gore, and witches? And was very excited, however it took almost half way to get to anything outside of a brainwashed, self-righteous girl being stupid while the men around her used and abused her, her family, and her friends. Not to mention to bs of having to save to the town that did horrible to her family and having no anger or resentment towards the place until 3/4 of the way through, two nice men does not make a town a good place.

Honestly, this story had promise it just I so slow to get going. This book is Charmed in the world of Handmaid's Tale and doesn't do anything new or better.

Wlw no chemisty and also just confusing. They seem to show no interest in each other at first. After that so cheesy. “The power never lies” so cheesy. Twist so stupid it’s giving maze runner and not necessary whatsoever. Too conveniently wrapped up. “‘tis” is so used so many times omg. Their names so silly too. Jamie is so cringe
