Didn’t wow me like I was expecting it to. It’s Nicola Yoon so of course it was lovely and had a beautiful and gut-wrenching message, and I liked all of that, but what was supposed to be the A plot (I think?) felt rushed and messy, and the pacing in general was a little unsteady. This book easily could have been a hundred some pages longer and I think it would have been better (and I absolutely would not have complained!)

This book was very interesting and sad book. This book takes a very interesting turn on a YA Rom-Com book. The main character gets the ability to see how relationships both begin and end; learns how to ballroom dance for a competition; falls in love with her dance partner when she didn’t expect it and so much happened. The story was interesting to read, but it is hard to remember much of what happened. However, I do remember the ending and I do not like it. I kind of wished it would have ended in a happier way. It was not necessary to have it end the way they did. Love can end but it also has the ability of not. This book can make people lose hope in love lasting when it can. However, this was a good and sweet book overall. It was sweet with a bunch of plot twists and dealing with some hard things.
I don’t normally read YA but I’m so glad I picked this up. Yoon’s writing really works for me, and I liked the characters and this unique plot. Unfortunately I heard just a bit too much about this one being a real tear jerker. That, paired with some of the early conversations between X and Evie, I found it very predictable. 3.5 Stars.
