Pure.

Unadulterated.

Pain.

The last maybe 100 pages are a war crime. My heart actually cracked.

Super cute and fun dancing element. It's giving Dirty Dancing/Strictly Dancing vibes

Purely because timing inconsistencies irritate me

Cute, fast-paced book! For how short/quick the book was, I really liked all of the characters and side stories.

Despite this book's short length, it's got a lot of heart. If you want a quick read that's beautiful and heartbreaking, then definitely give this a try! (But keep the tissues ready)

“the problem with broken hearts isn’t that they kill you. it’s that they don’t.”

fairly quickly, i figured out where this book was heading. and yet, it still made me cry. Instructions For Dancing is a bittersweet story about the importance of love and how we must focus not on the ending but every single moment in the middle.

I just couldn't really get into the plot and why is no one trying to get Cassidy the help that she needs? This was just not for me.

Well I’m in tears.

nicola yoon has done it again and written another book i absolutely adore. i read this all in about one sitting which was about 5 hours. i just couldn’t stop reading it.

“Mom said just because a thing ends doesn’t make the thing any less real. Just because everything is different now doesn’t mean we didn’t love each other once. Maybe we will again.”

this book is about allowing yourself to live and love in the present moment. even if a relationship—romantic, platonic, etc—ends in heartbreak, you should treasure the time you have with them now. instructions for dancing made me tear up more than once but i think this is one of the books i’ll carry inside of me for a long time.

I was so frustrated at MC, loved the love interest-he deserved better imo. Not a fan of the "problem" being raised: Do we love even if we know it's going to end? I wanted more dancing.. I did however love the cast. In particular I love how Yoon described white people as being white. Because not enough authors do that and it's a very small thing but I realized that while reading this and I liked it. Such a good book in the end, just wish it didn't take MC until the final chapter to make a move.
