Love this fairy retelling of Cinderella also seems to have a bit of Rapunzel thrown into it. Also has sign language in it which was just amazing to me, so rare to find a character that uses sign language, love Nessa and also Blue and Kellan's relationship.
This was my favorite one of the series!! I love how these are loosely based on fairy tales and woven into brand new, kind of dark, intricate stories. I didn't realize this was based on Cinderella until I was about 150 pages in. Easy to read but still a gripping story line and great character arcs! Love it!
What I loved about this book:
-I loved that Blue was a strong, independent character. While I didn't relish the moments in time she suffered, I can say that you honestly feel for her in those moments.
-I loved her relationship with Kellan and how naturally it blossomed. I loved that they fought for each other in their own ways.
-I loved how much Kellan grew in this book as a character. You really see him mature and start to take shape as the future King, which only makes you want to cheer him and Blue on!
-Nessa was an awesome character all in her own that she just needs a spin-off book with her own story. I loved that she couldn't talk but was still accepted and just normal in her family. Not to mention how much spunk she had at times made me grin throughout the book.
Minor complaints:
-I wish some of the side characters had a little more depth to them. Though the main characters were well rounded in this book, I felt that the side characters (minus Nessa and Blues grandma) needed a little something more to them. A some examples are Dinah's daughters and how little we see of them, Kellan's butler who we don't see much of, Blue's delivery boy... there's just minimal interaction with the main characters. If they had a little more depth to them, I probably would have given this a full five stars as that's the only aspect I found to be lacking a little.

I knew the time would come when I would stop loving YA fantasy novels as much as I did in high school, and this book was the sign that it had happened. I found the characters largely unlikable and their motives dramatic. I found the writing repetitive and the plot slow. It was by no means the worst thing I've ever read, it's an ok story, but my eyes are sore from all the rolling.

I loved this book! To begin with I was struggling to see the resemblance to Cinderella, with all the other storylines but in the end it portrays it so well.
The character of Blue is strong and powerful, and has real girl power. I love the character of Kellan, who is meant to be a causal, happy guy but deep down is under so much pressure and only Blue can see this. Their relationship is so well written!
This series was really good for including characters from other books but only in a minor form so they could be standalone books. I’ve never read a series like it but it worked so well.
I just love the ending too, and I really want to see a book with the characters from all the books in it!

4, 5 stars
by far the best in the Ravenspire series, the characters were so easy to like and root for; the story was interesting from beginning to end and the villain was just perfect, their povs didn't feel slow and boring but were actually interesting.

I found this book to be such a refeshing take on cinderella. I really did enjoy that we got various POV in this novel. I also liked how there was subtle connections or tie backs to the previous books in this series. I really did like all the various mysteries is in this novel and how they all did tie together. The villain story was not super clear at the end, I just want more clarity on what happened. I also the end end pacing of the book was a bit off and I struggled with it. But it was a fun engaging read! I really did like Blue and the prince and the princess. I also enjoy the deaf character and this book was a super fun read and a nice way to twist the cinderella story !
I loved each book in this series more than the last. I've always loved Cinderella so I guess it is fitting that Blood Spell is my favourite. To me I have always loved the message to maintain kindness and have courage even in the face of great hardship, and I'm so pleased how well that was shown through Blue's character. It is often something overlooked in retellings and I glad it wasn't here. Also, I just loved Kellan and all the moments between him and Blue were so sweet and heartfelt.
I hope there get to me more books in this series because I would be very pleased to read more.
