The prose, the world building, the lore, the characters... this was a masterpiece to read and I do not regret the 30 hours (and 5 months!) it took me to get through this tome. By the end, I was ready to move on from Middle Earth, but I'll never read fantasy quite the same ever again. 

I don't think I could read this all again, but I'll cherish it all the same.
