Had surgery and moving. I didn't want to keep reading it.
I didn't realize this was a set of novellas when I started. I finished the first one, and it was fine although the writing style is not really my cup of tea. I couldn't finish the second, bored as I was to tears. The third I also abandoned. The writing is dull, and tedious, and even though the third story is really the only one I cared about reading, by the time I got to it I no longer cared.

This is by far one of the most beautiful works of fiction I have ever read. Please, do your heart, your mind, and your soul a favor and read this masterpiece. I am obsessed with Jim Harrison's writings and this is book only reaffirms that obsession. All three novellas contained within are filled with action and deeply beautiful story and characters. All three are very different and yet similar. You will find yourself enchanted by these tales. Definitely worth your time!
