I did the Dolby Atmos full cast audiobook version and absolutely plowed through this book. It was phenomenally done! The cast was great, the graphic audio bits weren’t overwhelming, and it made me not want to put the book down! I finished it in a single session. That said, was the book itself actually all that good? Eh. It was fine. I don’t think I would have been quite as sucked in without the audio performances, but I also don’t think I would have DNF’d the book. It was interesting enough and the plot and mystery elements were well done (duh, it’s Agatha Christie), but I have also read stronger AC books. Considering this was AC’s debut way back in the day, it really was solid. I still am craving just a really really juicy and gritty mystery book though.

this book was alright. i started off really liking it, but the ending was kindof a letdown for me. i also enjoy mysteries where there are more twists and turns. this book didn’t have any of that and most of it was just the mc and poirot talking about the crime and not really discovering anything new until the reveal at the end.
Había leído varios libros de la saga de Hércules Poirot, pero nunca el primero y he de decir que no me ha decepcionado para nada. Me ha gustado mucho. Es cierto que me ha parecido que todo ocurre demasiado rápido, casi no te da tiempo a situarte en un escenario cuando ya han cambiado al siguiente. Aún así ha sido una muy buena lectura y como siempre, casi imposible de averiguar quién es el asesino hasta que no lo expone Poirot.
