I'm not sure that listening to this Audible version counts as having read the book. This was not a narration but a dramatisation of the story, "made for radio" like The Archers, I suppose. Some well known actors in it - Peter Dinklage of Game of Thrones, Himesh Patel of Yesterday and Jessica Gunning of Baby Reindeer (watch it, if you haven't already). I wasn't sure about Dinklage as Poirot (too rough around the edges) but he was good. As was Patel, especially, as Hastings. Overall, I enjoyed listening on a few road trips taken with my dad, and it's only about 4hrs total.
Anyway, the story is classic Poirot. Him bumbling about straightening things and hiding his hunches whilst Hastings constantly whines that he simply doesn't understand anything (and so Poirot has to do a lot of explaining) with Poirot's obligatory round up and lecture of all the suspects at the end, with the grand reveal.
It was easy to follow and the characters straightforward. A good, light listen.

I think I’ll have to read more Poirot! I don’t know if I could ever successfully solve one of Agatha Christie’s mysteries, but it’s always very fun to try. The evidence points in a dozen different directions. Masterfully woven.
