So, I am trying to be better about finishing series that I've started. This one I'd read up to #7 of 9 but the last one didn't quite do it for me. WELL, this one, #8, didn't quite do it for me either. It starts out with a few jumps in time from 400-something AD to France during a plague over 1000 years later...then Italy...then someplace with a lighthouse (see me losing interest there...) , then back to the "current day" of 2013 & 2014.

Only one more volume to go until I can mark this series as done.

Solid!! Read all but the “written-out story” portion in one day. More depth into Ananke after Mothering Invention, which was great to see.

Re read 07/2020
This felt like a collection of short stories with all the prequels and short scenes, definitely not my fave.

A few really standout issues in terms of innovation. The structure of the storytelling continues to make the plot feel a little bewildering but I think that’s part of the fun. Really intrigued to see how it all wraps up.

*read as part of Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon*

It was nice to finally get to read these single issue specials that had been released throughout the run of WicDiv, and I do feel like I learned a lot from these--and there are quite a few where I'd be happy to spend more time in. But it is also a bittersweet feeling to finish this volume. I know that there is only one volume left, and I'm going to be sad to have this fascinating tale come to a close. Still, I'm glad I read this, and it may have inspired me to do a re-read of the whole series right before the final volume is released. We'll see.
