I'm doing a lot of rereads these days because revisiting with my favourite characters/worlds is very comforting, while the real world events are so chaotic and uncertain. I'm still buying a few new books every month, but I haven't really felt prepared to face new situations and worlds.

That said, I'd really remembered so very little, finer detail-wise, of The Sun, The Moon, and The Stars verse from the first time around (it's been 10 years after all). The level of violence in it (mostly in the background, as the story's setting is in fantasy kingdoms where slavery exists and life is hard) shocked me a couple of times.

As in the other two books in the series, the characters felt alive, with flaws and strengths. I enjoyed rereading this series.
