What in the watt pad did I just read? It wasn’t bad per say.. but it wasn’t good. It seriously felt like a watt pad story. Very “young” writing vibe and it made me cringe a few times. Cute premise, but I wasn’t vibing with it.
What an emotional journey!
Such a good read.
The flash backs felt well-developed and are what made the story.
I love a good second-chance romance—and this had very deep layers. Overall really recommend this debut!!
CW:
Look up content warnings— main ones are sexual assault (on page), alcohol abuse, and death of a loved one.

I abandoned all responsibilities today to read this whole entire book and I'm not mad at it. For this being a debut for Nina, I truly enjoyed it. Josie and Wes' story was beautiful. I am curious to see if Nina will explore some of the characters mentioned in the book like Cora and Leila.
Holyyy shittttttttt
This is the best book I’ve everrrrrrr read + the best second chance romance out there
The story is chief’s kiss and this story made me blush, cry, laugh, and all the other emotions you could think of. It’s so gooddddddddd

I love a second chance romance, so when I saw that this book was a second chance romance with her brother's best friend, has forced proximity, and Cuban American representation? I ordered this book so fast! This is also Nina’s debut novel, and I cannot wait to read more from her.
Josie and Wes grew up around together. Wes was her twin brother's best friend and her secret crush. The summer after high school graduation, things slowly began to change, and they began secretly dating during the summer before college. A life-changing event occurs one night that changes everyone’s lives, and Josie moves away and returns seven years later. They are reunited, and we begin to learn what happened all those years in between and how it’s affecting the present.
This book is a journey filled with love and heartbreak. It is so beautifully written. I loved how Nina took us to the past and present. I also really loved her writing. I completely lost myself in the book, and in so many ways, it felt like I was watching a movie unfold.
Josie, our romance-loving book best friend! Our girl has gone through a lot, but we see how hard she has fought to work on herself. I loved seeing where she was in the past and who she grew to be seven years later. There is mental health representation in this book, and we see Josie find a way to use her experience to help others.
The author also included a playlist (with a QR code in the back) a drawing of Josie’s tattoo, and a bonus scene on her website about Josie and Wes (yes, I already read it!)
I absolutely loved this book. When I wasn’t reading, I was thinking about this book. Also, the cover? STUNNING

Idk where to start with this book.
I love everything about it. The representation of Spanish culture. The main character is Hispanic and being Hispanic Myself i loved that i could relate a lot to Josie. Her and Wes were seriously THE CUTEST.
I love their whole story. I love a good dual POV. I love the back and forth between summer/when they were kids to now. I love that it was Just enough spiciness to make me Caliente BUT not TOO much that it took over their meaningful relationship. Ugh 10/10 recommend!
