Amazing writing and ideas, just not my type of book I think.

this is definitely not actually a 2 and the craft is definitely way higher but just not my vibe. It describes how various historical events from the 1940s to 2000s affected the lives of french people. I think it would be interesting to some people, but the voice was quite passive and I found it hard to connect with the book or what was happening. If you dont mind this then plz pick it up because even my pnut brain can tell that the prose is wonderful! The culture vibes of what it is like to exist in a social world are also *chefs kiss*, probably also requires more reflection during the reading process than I am willing to give

Ok this rating is definitely a reflection of my own brain so if I was smarter it would be higher. Really loved this as a memoir concept - super interesting, have never read anything like it! Really well written and enjoyed it but a bit high brow for me
