I really liked the setting , I mean an HBCU campus of magical beings ? Super cool! I enjoyed the cast of characters as well. I could immediately tell the author low key has a type , dread heads ahah I would say this is adventurous , it at times is unclear of what the exact plot is , for instance I had no idea this was a murder mystery until the authors note at the end.

OMFG!!!!! This book had everything I love about fantasy! Witches, vampires, talking cats, wolves, sirens, moving doors, time travel!!! With an HBCU spin. I absolutely loved this book the ending??!!!! I usually don’t write reviews but this was a fun read. I enjoyed each characters POV the mystery of who Maggie Grey really is. I’m so excited to see what happens in book 2!!

I really wanted to like this book and I think I would’ve if it focused on Maggie and maybe Souxie but the POVs from like 4 plus people was annoying especially since some of the characters annoyed me. The ending makes me want to read book two but I really wanted to love this book so I’m so disappointed right now.
