This book really does contain the Best Advice Ever Given in the History of the World. Other than that, meh. It's entertaining, makes you think a bit.

I thought this book was OK. A little funny- a light read; I really liked the chapter on getting a tan. A good book if you are from the south. Are the Sweet Potato Queens a real thing? I'm going to Google it.

Overall, this book was so-so. There were definitely funny parts and I love books from the Southern perspective. But other parts were not my cup of tea. I found this to be a great "palate-cleansing" book, so to say.

This book is the worst book I have ever read. It was a complete waste of time! I actually thought my IQ was going down as I read it. There were a couple of times where I gave a little chuckle and that's why the book got one star. These "Sweet Potato Queens" have no respect for themselves at all...never mind dignity. Or maybe they just don't know what dignity is. I read SPQ for our book club and I just kept thinking about all the great books I could be reading instead of this. Horrible book, I would not recommend it to anyone! Read only if you want your IQ to go down!

maybe because I'm not Southern, I didn't get these women? they just seemed obnoxious and loud instead of interesting and lively to me
funny lighthearted fast-paced

Cute and quirky and that’s it.

I'm a convert! I plan to read all of the SPQ books this summer! It will be the perfect time to read the books as I move back to Mississippi!

Aside from puppies, I hate to describe anything as "cute"...but I found this book just that (but not cute-for-kids really, lots of curse words). Highly recommend for any fan of Fannie Flagg or Robert Harling Southern-humor.

i love this book so much. i listened to it on tape, and i think jill connor browne's accent really sets it off. the only part i didn't love was the recipe section, and i think that's 'cause i was listening and couldn't skip it.

Ugh

If I could rate this zero stars, I would. I was looking for a lighthearted book but I didn't find this funny - just repulsive. Would NOT recommend.
