Unfortunately, this is a three star read for me.
Everyone and their cousin was eye-deep in Daniel's business. That attitude constantly grated on my nerves and spoiled most of the book.
There are only three people that I liked: Daniel, Cam and Jordan. In the end - Bree, she really came through for Dan. The rest, even Jake, I really didn't care much for. Haters hated, the rest assumed, judged, nagged, stalked or practiced hissy fits. If I were Dan I wouldn't want to live in that meddling swarm of righteous pricks of St. Nachos either.
I am adding "abuse" tag mostly because of the "good" people of St. Nachos, not the abusive parent.
Jake and Dan's half sister didn't make much sense either. Why was she seeking out Dan? It didn't seem like she wanted anything from him financially, emotionally or otherwise. She showed up, muddied up the waters and left. WTF?

PS I am not going into the fact that story itself felt disjointed, especially towards the end. Other reviews mentioned it plenty.

This was my least favourite of the series. I really liked Daniel and Cam in the last book and was looking forward to their turn.
you never really know what someone is thinking and sometimes it better that you don't. I found Daniel funny in the last book and then when we get into his head in this one, I didn't really like him. He grew on me through the book and I liked that he didn't feel the pull of st nachos like everyone else. I did enjoy it.
I felt like a piece was missing from the end. The book worked up to Daniel changing and the moments of his fight to prove it were not there. There was a time jump and we found out the results but didn't experience it with him.
As a series these 4 books are great and I will Reread in the future.

In the words of Daniel himself...Spec-fucking-tacular! This is hands down my favorite book in this series, and for sure one of my favorites from this author.

This books was the fourth in the St. Nacho's series. St. Nacho's is a little town in the coast of California that seems to lure and keep those people that come to it running away from their old lives.

Daniel's brother Jake is the latest to find his way to St. Nacho's. Daniel after after a horrible divorce and finally coming clean with his sexuality, comes to stay with his brother and ends up in the town as well...Enter firefighter Cameron Rooney, the man who rescued Dan and Jake after terrible car accident.

This book was done in the first POV and for all intents and purposes this book was Daniel's book. His inner dialogue, his wit, his humor, his self-deprecating charm, grabbed me hard. I couldn't stop reading. He was such a fantastic character, and between the one liners and the heartbreakingly beautiful things popping up in his head or coming out of his mouth, I was sniffly mess or a grinning fool more than once.

I loved Dan, and I loved Dan and Cam. They were one of the most fun couples I've read. So good together, in everything. I bought their love story hook, line and sinker. Was it a bit corny at times? Sure...But it was done so sweetly, just for the sake of making me sigh, and hold my heart in delight from reading about that love, that I can't begrudge it even a little bit.

This little town is still corky and just a bit weird, and the same themes of family, redemption, second chances and finding home were all there.

This one is a keeper. For those who have read the St. Nachos's Series a given, and for those who have not, this one might be worth working up to.

Highly Recommend
