The writing style was really not for me, so by the end I was just exhausted. Probably won't read/listen to the next book in the series.
Welp.
Žalosno je kako se uredniku nije dalo čitati do kraja te ima jako puno grešaka u zadnjih 200 str. I to ne samo tipfelera, nego kriva imena likova i riječi koje su nepravilno napisane.
Nakon zanimljivog prvog dijela, ova knjiga je sooo boring. Jasno mi je da Jardira nismo pretjerano upoznali u prvoj knjizi, ali mene zanimao razvoj radnje a pola knjige je Jardirov backstory.
U jednom trenutku postane televisa presenta kad se Leesha i Inevera pokušavaju pobit jer su ljubomorne jer Jardir ih hoće obje. Wut?
Najzanimljiviji dio su Arlen i Renna, iako je Renna kao lik neki simpleton who reaaaally wants the D, ali barem nekaj radi i ako nastavi tim putem ima potencijala biti zanimljivi lik.
Rojer je jako zanemareni lik koji ima jako interesantnu moć but hey, we need more of the sweet sweet chick fight.
Od pozitivnih strana knjige, ima par zanimljivih plot pointova, međutim tolko sporo se odvija radnja da ih u međuvremenu zaboravim.

Poteva essere un 4.5 ma al capitolo 30 c'è una cosa talmente irrealistica che so che influenzerà il mio giudizio anche nei pov di questo personaggio nei prossimi volumi.
Per il resto mi sono piaciuti molto i cambi di ambientazione dovuti ai viaggi, esplorando anche la cultura (seppur discutibile) di Jardir.
Vedremo nei prossimi libri come si evolverà la situazione e i rapporti tra i personaggi.
Menzione speciale per il capitolo 22 dove ho pianto parecchio ❤️

Absolutely loved reading it. The three main things that detract from my enjoyment were a) thé very obvious ripping off of existing religions in a not very flattering way b) the sudden overemphasis on dialect/accent compared to the previous book and c) the OTT sexualisation of all of the main female characters
Çöl Mızrağı bizi Dövmeli Adam'da birkaç bölümde gördüğümüz Krasia ve Jardir'e götürüyor önce. Her açıdan bu insanların hayatını derinden inceleme fırsatı bulduğumuz bu bölümler bana bir açıdan arap toplumlarını, islam değil arap, hatırlatsa da yazarın doğu kültürünü ve eski savaşçı toplumları fazlasıyla iyi harmanladığını söylemem sanırım hiç de yanlış olmaz.
Diğer taraftan Dövmeli adam ve dostları arasındaki ilişki yavaş yavaş da olsa değişip gelişirken, umulmadık genç bir kız da aralarına katılmak üzere. Renna Tanner, ilk kitabın tek bir sahnesinde görünen yan karakterlerden biriyken, bu kitabın önemli bir parçası haline geliyor.
Diğer taraftan bambaşka bir tehlike kahramanlarımızı beklemekte. Eh, ilk kitapla bize tanıtılan içi iblisli ve korku dolu gecelerle dolu bu dünya, bu kitapla birlikte çok daha fazla gelişim gösteriyor. Buna bağlı olarak karakter gelişimleri de çok güzel işlenmiş kanımca. Ve bir araya gelen kuzey ve güney toplumları da ayrı bir konu. Bakalım anlaşabilecekler mi? Okunacak güzel bir devam kitabı, fantastik edebiyat seviyorsanız heyecanla sayfalarını çevireceksiniz.

the book seems well written and engaging, but I keep having this unsatisfied feeling for many reasons, some of them irrelevant to the book.
1. Fantasy writers need to find other sources of inspiration than desert tribes. I am getting seriously weary of the fact.
2. I need another universe where women play a more prominent role. I don't mean the individual characters (eg. Inevera), most of which need to overcome their gender, or be part of a specific cast and still try to impose their authority through deceit or a puppet figure. I haven't found a matriarchy, an intriguing society with treason and plotting since Menzoberranzan.
3. I am tired of actually hating the main characters and wanting to punch them in the face. How difficult can it be to create and interesting yet real character, with flaws yet rising above them? Apparently a lot, at least for me, since I have hated the protagonists of the last 10 books I read.
4. I hate those military societies and the ill-place notion of "honor" and the casts and the fighting and generally this macho stupidity. I need more politics, behind the curtain action, intrigue.
5. OH! And I will take dragons, elves and swords over demons and spears any given day.
My ideal fantasy book is somewhere out there. Or is it? Either way, I will keep searching...

Really good. Different in a lot of ways from most fantasy series I've read.
