”We’re not just dealing with one psycho. We’re dealing with two.”

Wow, this was a wild ride. A chillingly dark story for sure (TW: assault, abuse, rape, pedophilia, multiple murders, graphic portrayals of drug use & addiction, suicidal ideation, and more), but I was absolutely hooked and couldn’t put it down.

There were a few elements of the story that felt unfinished, and critical plot points that happened off-page for a character to recap later, which really annoyed me. I want to see & experience “big reveals,” and the characters’ reactions to them, in the moment with the MC, instead of just hearing about it after the fact. So that took me out of the story a bit. But other than that, this was a nearly-perfect thriller, with SUCH a creepy psycho villain!

“Don’t you know by now that I live for danger?”

The book open with a young girl doing something unspeakable to the father of the child she’s babysitting, and ask her sister for help.

Jump forward in time, one sister is a hard charging lawyer. The other is a drug addict. When one of the lawyer’s clients works out what they might have done, the duo know they have to act, but how?

The story was okay, but it stretched credibility somewhat, and the ending broke credibility completely. This might have been because there was “no good way” to end the book credibly.

I cannot stress how hard this is to read, especially if you have experienced any type of trauma similar to those of the characters, but it is extremely well written and thorough. I cannot wait to continue reading her work.

Once again libby has shown me an author I apparently been sleeping on! This book!! Had me crying, laughing and screaming all at the same time!! At the beginning I didn't know Calli was so young the way it made it out! She was buddy wife! I was so hurt broken when I found out how old she was! I'm glad her sister Lee came to her rescue! I only wish her sister stayed and helped her sister stay on the right track!! But I know you can only help them so far before they gotta wanna help themselves! Walter also sounded like a awesome passionate guy! And Lee really didn't deserve that man! But I'm glad he stuck it out with her! This book open your eyes to seeing you don't know about everyone struggles, you only see what's on the outside!

And I'm so glad Andrew got what he deserved at the end! That slim ball was evil walking!!! Him and his slimy wife!!!!!

This author knows how to pull you in and hold on to you until the very last page!
