I saw so many people enjoying this book on Instagram so I had to see what this was all about. Unfortunately, I think this is a book that needs to be read rather than listened to. I was constantly confused with the characters and the slight interconnections of their stories. I definitely could not appreciate this author’s work as much through the audio but do appreciate the publisher giving me an audio ARC so I could experience this lovely book.

All The Acorns On The Forest Floor shares the stories of deeply human experiences of being a mother, daughter, or partner. Each character is connected to one another, as each story unfolds you begin to see how they are woven together. A young couple excited about a new pregnancy, battles with infertility, a woman learning that she was adopted, miscarriages, unplanned pregnancies, and choosing not to have children. This novel explores motherhood and the different ways one can become a mom and the strength of love. I loved this book and read it in a day, I was captivated from page 1. Initially I had a difficult time discerning which character’s perspective was the focus in each chapter, but I was blown away by how well everything eventually came together. Incredibly well written and emotional read. Highly recommend!
This book blew me away. All of these interconnected stories were so beautiful, raw, and poignant. I saw little pieces of myself all over this and I could not put it down. This was heartbreaking at times but I’m telling you, it’s worth it. These stories deal with motherhood and marriage, and how different becoming or not becoming a parent looks for some families. This book impacted me in so many ways and I will talk about how beautiful this was forever probably.

Thank you to Netgalley, Kim Hooper & Dreamscape Media for granting my netgalley wish for this audiobook in exchange for my honest review! I'd seen a few reviews saying it was incredible and I was so excited to get a copy. This book is wonderful, it's not my typical read/listen at all but WOW! This book explores all different types of family relationships from a couple hoping to get pregnant, a couple struggling with infertility, a woman discovering the truth behind her adoption and quite a few other touching stories. I loved the format where one chapter covered each story and the narration by Hillary Huber was perfect. Each chapter really dug into details with so much emotion and was heartfelt. There's a few of the stories that to me really stood out as memorable and will stick with me for a long time.
Trigger warnings:
All the Acorns on the Forest Floor tells multiple overlapping stories about growing up, creating a family, having children, infidelity, growing sick and growing old.
The story is weaved in almost a poetic, looking from afar kind of way. Despite learning and experiencing some of the darkest and deepest troubles, secrets or desires of the characters, I felt apart from them. And while this typically lessens my enjoyment of a story, in this book it worked.
This is an emotionally engaging story, without getting too emotional. Instead, it's emotional in a way that you are seeing an overlying sameness between starkly different lives. You are seeing the similarities and contrast through a lens of calm and quiet understanding.
I honestly could not tell you what I truly gained from this book. But I am glad that I did.
Thank you to Libro.FM for providing me with a copy of this audiobook. This does not impact my opinions, whatsoever.

I cried multiple times through the book and it made me think a lot about pregnancy and what it must be like to loose a child. I’m still not sure yet if I want to ever be a mother, but I know that if I do, I want to be a great one and I think that this book does a great job at encouraging empathy and hope for families.
Thank you Netgalley and the Publisher for my gifted copy.
This book is a short story collection of infertility. It tells a series of different circumstances and experiences that women have gone through.
As a military spouse I feel women are always comparing themselves to others and sadly fertility is one of the many things spouses struggle with.
In this book you follow the ladies as they begin to accept their circumstances and find their happiness in life. Some learn to move on after years of trying, some adopt and some end up pregnant after trying for so many years.

I love Kim Hooper as an author, this wasn’t one of my favorites but I also understand the reason behind the book and happy it can bring awareness to adoption, team pregnancy, infertility, and miscarriage.
I loved everything about this book, but disliked the last story so much that it made me dislike the entire book.
