Really fascinating, and this particular medical examiner has seen and been involved in a wide range of cases and circumstances such as 9/11, the anthrax scare, and many homicides. I live that we were given even the more mundane parts in an interesting way and how personable it was written.

I couldn’t get into it and her style of writing. Seems like a great book but just not for me.

Well-written and informative of the experience the Surgeon-turned-Pathologist Judy Melinek has had throughout the early years of her career, including through the events of 9/11. Cases are treated with a clinical description I appreciate. Recollections of her life and the experience of others around her that are mentioned are colored with bias, which is of course human. That said I do think she lets her bias towards suicide bleed too much into these re-tellings. I of course understand, given her personal experiences, and I do appreciate the emotional connection mentioned throughout the experiences of her career, but this bias does take a bit away from the experience of the book with how forefront it becomes when the topic comes up.
