The beginning of the war is brutal and exciting. Rick is the man with a plan and his plan is working well. so far.

The thing with Walking Dead? I didn't think much. I mean, it was fine, it moved the story forward about the normal amount. But the second I closed the book, that was it. I haven't thought about it since I did that and started typing this.
More and more it definitely feels like Walking Dead needs to be read at the pace of 3 trades at a time. I can't imagine reading it month-to-month as even the slim trades seem to not offer quite enough meat.
It's not really a criticism of the story, I suppose. Really, I wish that the publishing world were more flexible. I feel pretty strongly that Walking Dead, as a series, has seen enough success to write its own ticket, and I'd like to see it published in whatever format it's meant to be read. Maybe that means compendiums, omnibi, individual issues of varying lengths, whatever. I just can't help but notice they have more and more formats for the same stories, but I'm not really sure about the best way to read.

Negan scares me 10x more than the Governor. Maybe I would start watching the show again if Negan was in the works soon. I was getting a little bit uninterested in the gns as well, but with the big war and cliffhanger in this volume I'm definitely on the edge of my reader's seat again.

The three communities have come together to attack Negan. They launch a full scale attack on Negan’s community. Obviously, there are setbacks.
I liked this one. There was a lot in it and it didn’t feel very samey. Lots of twists which I liked and the art style is still really good!

I started reading this series almost two years ago. I think I missed one somewhere because there's a character death mentioned in this one that I don't remember happening (dammit). Obviously I'm going to rate every issue because the story is just amazing. However, I wish I could rate the television show afterwards. If they stick to this story line next season is going to just break my heart...
