I really though the book started off well. The character was developing into what I thought would be a really well developed character. Then she grew older and became very annoying. She is either killing someone or having a crying temper tantrum. As the book goes on Nihal becomes more full of herself and alienates all her friends. Also her obsession with Fen gets really old.

I really thought the story could have had a lot of potential but I was disappointed. I don't really fit in the demographics of this book but I really kept an open mind. I had no problem with the love interests and the fact that Nihal was a teenage girl. There were times when I wanted to yell at Nihal because she is just so shallow and thickheaded.

Rereading a favourite of when I was younger, maybe 13 or 14? I think this is the first fantasy series I read, and I was hooked. The world building is lovely, just as vivid as I remembered. Nihal is kind of an exhausting main character; she's going through the same psychological motion for 3/4 of the book. Especially the not talking and just leaving everything behind is Very Frustrating, because she does it constantly. I hope her personal arch gets better in part 2.

Mi sarebbe piaciuto di piĆ¹ da bambina, ma anche da adulta mi sono divertita con questo libro avventuroso con tanti personaggi amabili!

I received a copy via NetGalley from the publisher for an honest review.

Since it was originally written in Italian, the translation was a little off, but for me it was okay. The plot was interesting, I loved the story world, how I felt about the character's were a little confusing.

Nihal was one of my least favorite characters, the things she said, did, and thought put me off. I feel like her father lets her get off to easily with everything she does, I found myself yelling at him in the beginning to be an actual father and punish her, maybe she would learn her lesson. I don't understand how she became a good sword fighter at the age of thirteen with absolutely no training.

The one character I did love was Senner. I think I might be the only one who agreed with what he said about she should of asked him if he does magic when he defeated her for her sword/dagger. If he was the main character, I just might read the next, because I did like some parts of the story, especially from his point of view.

Even though I didn't like it, I feel as though others could like/love it, so I could recommend it.
