I liked Valek. At first, he was this asshole all the time, but he got his shit together. There were repeated chapters from the previous book too, though here they brought some new stuff from Valek's and Magenta's perspectives (not much, mind you, could have done without them). I'm not sure how much more powerful Magenta is; she read as way more powerful than Agatha, and that one was overpowered as it is. Still hate Raegel. At least we got to see much more of Lycidas' personality, and I kind of liked him, too. I'm not trhilled about the mate he got, tough, but we'll see in the next book.
