entertaining but kinda felt like i was waiting for the story to start the whole time. i’m also not a fan of the “miscommunication” love trope.
also why not just bond matt as best friends??? why was he so set on wooing his friends

This feels like a book you'd find on wattpad. The writing and dialog can't choose a time frame to be... like why are we using modern slang in a D&D fantasy set? If you read it as a book its meh. If you read it like a play of d&d players its kinda better but still annoying I don't want to have to change the narrator for it to be semi enjoyable.

DNF, nothing wrong with this book I just couldn't gel with it

Enjoyable story that takes place where most books end--after the quest has been completed. What happens next? Will there be a new quest?

Arek and his group have fulfilled the prophecy and killed the Vile One. Arek agrees to be the temporary king until the the righful heir is found. Bu there is strong magic involved, thwarting his vague plans for the future.

Random observations: The original quest was very much like a D&D campaign. Book is set in a world where queer relationshops are not stigmatized at all. Very refreshing. Although most of the main characters are in their late teens, there is a lot of swearing.

Rion, relax, bro.
Sionna, slaaay.
Lila, tu salías a escena y yo emocionado.
