I cannot handle a miscommunication trope; or even worse a no communication trope.  I would love to try it again sometime though.

Sometimes I just want to read/listen to a fun story with ALL the yearning, a bit of banter, and idiots in love. This was the perfect pick for my recent travels. Easy to follow, loveable characters, comedic moments poking fun at all the romance tropes, and two idiots mutually pining away. Big old ZERO on the chili peppers for anyone wanting a fun story without any explicit moments. Highly recommend both the book an the audiobook narrator.

Arek was the foretold Chosen One, the one to defeat the evil king and bring peace to the land. At least that was the plan. Through a misunderstanding and a magic bond, Arek is now king and must be married by his 18th birthday in order to stay king and, more importantly, stay alive.

What a fun novel! Oh my gosh. Yes, it is a bit frustrating that my least favorite romance trope (miscommunication) is being used to the highest degree here, but the dynamics between the characters were enough to keep me going. You have all the staples of a good RPG party here, with a rogue, a mage, a knight, a bard, and a warrior, and seeing them play off each other was really fun. I love the set up of a bisexual dating game where only one person knows they’re playing, because you can see the foundation of Arek and Matt’s relationship build through all of Arek’s exploits to find a soulmate. Each member of Arek’s party is fleshed out and feels like their own person. The diversity in sexualities is great as well, with characters not pointing out the genders of their romance options. It took a bit longer than I would have liked to get to the ending, but it happened and it was amazing, and I loved it.

Thank you Netgalley for the e-ARC.

¿Qué hay después del felices para siempre? ¿Qué hay después de derrotar al gran villano de la historia? De esto se trata la historia de “Así que esto es un felices para siempre” una de las novedades de este verano por parte de @edicionesuranochile ✨

A lighthearted quick read that's cute, though side characters are kinda thin.

Why did I took so long to read this?? There is not a lot of world building or an overly complex plot but damn it is GOOD!
The feeling you get is the same conform romcoms are able to provide and, although the slow burn is REALLY slow, it’s all so fun. You will not be able to stop reading it.

I think I might have started with very high expectations for this book because unfortunately this book did not live up to these expectations. I did enjoy some of the characters (not including Matt) and the pacing made it easy to finish. Other than that the relationship was so surface level and I did not like the whole Wooing thing. I usually enjoy miscommunication when it’s done well but in this book it felt so forced and poorly constructed. 2.5 stars which actually pains me.
