A breathtaking story with an outright stupid main character. Made me fall in love with Wrath so much. Not that he did anything i liked but still i felt that pull towards Wrath. Not a good ending though considering it as a series. The end wasn't as engaging as to urge me to immediately try the next book. Still can't get over the stupidity of Emilia...

The concept of this book was great and I loved the writing . My only issue was the plot. So predictable and the main character got on my nerves. Things should have been more obvious to her. I don’t like that when they use that as a plot device.

To say that this book was a disappointment is an understatement.
Witches, demons, royalty, and a dark love interest? Those are literally my favorite things, but the execution was really offputting to me. And here's the thing, the story and characters started off great, like 5 star territory, but as everything progressed I started liking the characters and the plot less and less. I have a feeling that New Adult just might not be my friend, I love slow burn romance, with the characters really taking their time to like each other, making every glance and subtle touch feel like fireworks going off. But here we get Emilia practically going feral over how hot Wrath was, and it just felt too much like I accidentally fell into a SJM book, which just isn't what I wanted. I guess it's my fault though, I mistakenly thought that this was YA and only realized about halfway that I was very wrong.
Besides the romance, the MC was really annoying to me. Emilia really started off well enough, but she starts to make more and more idiotic decisions, and constantly trusting the wrong people. I don't mind a character that makes mistakes, it's actually a good thing as it makes them feel real, but they need to learn from them and get better, and I just didn't get that from this.
I know there's lots of people who will love this, I'm just not one of them.
