Really enjoyed this novel! I loved picking it up to return to the relationship between Strike and Robin. Human relationships, particularly family ones, are a strength of Rowling. Combined with a light style and careful plotting it’s a win win for me. I usually prefer plot driven stories but this was compelling.
With reference to the other reviews; I didn’t think it was too long (because I was enjoying it so much); the plot was complex and I’m glad I’m not the only one who began to lose touch with some of it! But three cheers to JK for writing ambitiously about a complex family.

I enjoyed it. Some of the connections were too convenient but overall, it made me happy. I can't help but love Cormoran and Robin. Not necessarily together but as individuals, I love them.

From the first bit I was hooked. Great beginning, lively intricate plot, peppered with original characters...just the best kind of read.

Amazing. I love the writing style of these. For such a giant book (650ish pages) it flows so nicely. The ending was everything I wanted in a detective/crime/thriller. Also great to see the progress Robin and Strike (and now Barclay) have made as a team- Robin's detective work is incredible alongside a moment in this book where she pulls herself together and does what every reader wants her to do (you know what I'm talking about ;) )
Can't wait for the next one!

Fantastic on audio. Loved that this one was not so gory/mudery as the last couple. Loved the character development as always.

Brilliant, as usual. All those masterpiece components are there – from a complex and engrossing plot and her signature dry humour to excellently imparted atmosphere and unforgettable characters. The prologue makes you grin maniacally and reread it several times – that’s how great it is! The only downside is the fact, that the next installment is at least a year away at best - several years at worst, and I want it right now!
