-Vivian(lives in New York 1944 and is working to get a bill involving book censorship repealed)
Althea(visiting Berlin through a program in 1932 during the beginning of the Nazi Movement)
-Hannah(lives in Paris in 1936 working at a Jewish run bookstore prior to Nazi invasion of France)
Each one has a very interesting story, but I found myself hooked to Althea and Hannah's. It was interesting to read about the lifestyles during that time that are very rarely talked about. I found myself stopping mid chapter to do my own research because it was just so mind opening.
I love how it all wrapped up in the end. The words written in this book will last with me a lifetime!

A WW II era historical fiction novel about 3 women’s stories and their connectedness through the power of books…yes, please! It took me quite a bit of time to keep track of the different story lines. However, once I got that squared away later in the book, I truly enjoyed it! Loved how it came together towards the end!
I read a lot set in the WWII time period, and just when I think I've learned about most of it, I find more to learn. No one thinks about how Hitler came to power, and I'm glad this book informs on all the manipulation he created to be able to rise. I did however miss having a historical note at the end of the book to know what parts were real and fictionalized as well as what resources the author used.
