Un de mes préférés jusqu’à maintenant!

I love Agatha Raisin! I broke my own rule slightly by watching the TV adaptation before reading this one and I think I spoilt it slightly... I did still enjoy it, but could only picture what happened in the show and how it was set out, so not as much fun as picturing it all for myself.

The plot itself is as well put-together as any Agatha Raisin; I find them slightly addictive, a little like Poirot, but with less pause-for-thought on political-correctness (Christie is very much of it's time; however, the plots, twists and turns are unrivalled- she will always rightfully have her place as queen of crime) and I know the Beaton wrote these as a pastiche/tribute to Christie (hence Agatha)...

This is a bit of a ramble, with not much about the plot at all! Agatha's challenge in The Wizard of Evesham is all based around the salon of the local, very popular and handsome, hairdresser. With all the old favourite characters, Bill Wong, Charles Fraith etc.

Finally! A book without James Lacey being a complete jerk! Though, I‘m not really a fan of Sir Charles, either. Agatha needs better taste in men.

I liked the blackmailing story line of this instalment and the cast of new characters were all so delightfully awful!

Another BANGER from the Agatha Raisin Series! A book without James Lacey is such a breath of fresh air!

This series is like Taco Bell. Mostly it's annoying but sometimes you crave it for no reason. The murder here is as moronic as ever, but the rest of it is tolerably amusing.

While I enjoyed Agatha's latest outing, I think it's time for a short break from Mrs. Raisin and her troubles. I think this puts me at about a quarter way through the series. This was one of the better mysteries, and there were lots of laughs as Agatha's vanities led her into more trouble.

4 out of 5 stars.
