Loved, loved, loved this one. Sharp, funny, insightful, compassionate, and just a good "people book." I've been tricked by a few of her old novels, republished as new works, lately, and THERE IS A DEFINITE DIFFERENCE! WALH is the work of a mature and reflective woman who has thought about ageing, family, showing up, love, community, and life, and it was a joy to read.

4⭐️ Audiobook - great single narration. Family drama without a very deep story/plot, mostly entertaining. Divorced mom of two daughters, trying to find inspiration for a new novel, is really trying to keep the peace in her home. She’s dealing with an annoying ex-husband - who is about to become a new dad again, her recently widowed step-father - who has moved into her home, and her biological father - who shows up unannounced after not being in her life for decades and wants to crash at her house for a bit. All the while, she’s worried about being able to afford staying in her home, that needs something repaired seemingly every day! Plus, she’s trying to find some romance in her life again.

An hour and a half in and almost nothing had happened. I was just bored.
