This was really funny and heart warming. I loved the dads, Gene especially was a hoot. It's nice to step into this world of a house crowded with family and chaos and then close the book and enjoy my quiet home lol. Also, not sure how Lila was sleeping on Jensen, what a catch.

It’s hard to read about a woman making that many bad decisions, but I read the whole thing in three sittings so I can’t say I didn’t enjoy it!

I wish Violet had gotten a bit more of a story, but the book was already pretty long so it would’ve been hard to fit it in

Loved, loved, loved this one. Sharp, funny, insightful, compassionate, and just a good "people book." I've been tricked by a few of her old novels, republished as new works, lately, and THERE IS A DEFINITE DIFFERENCE! WALH is the work of a mature and reflective woman who has thought about ageing, family, showing up, love, community, and life, and it was a joy to read.
