Another feel-good romance full of vulnerability and swoony love stories. I can't get enough of these characters or this world!! Excellent narration by Caitlin Kelly :) Penny is a plus-sized girl who has the worst luck in love but when the hot barrista shows some interest she takes charge trying not to be just the nice girl, but the girl who can put her own needs first. Highly recommended for fans of All the feels (another romance with a plus-sized, fan-fic loving heroine set in LA).

Advanced Physical Chemistry is the first book I have read by this author, but it won't be the last. I really enjoyed this story full of people who seem very real and the situations they get themselves into. It was a lot of fun.

Penny doesn't have the best luck in the boyfriend department. She uprooted her life following one of them only to find that he was cheating on her. Just like every other boyfriend she has had. She is super sweet and kind, is not a stick thin model, super smart and wonderful to read. Sure she has some body confidence issues, but who wouldn't if you had all of your boyfriends cheat on you. But she is making the most of her life in her new city. Making new friends and making it home.

Caleb is the "hottie barista" at the local coffee shop Penny goes to every day. He has a plan for his life, everything is mapped out for him. Only maybe he doesn't want that life after all? Penny never thought he liked her, he never talks to her when she comes in for her coffee until suddenly it seems like maybe he is not so uninterested? Maybe they can be friends because that is what Penny does, befriends people. And really he is the hottie barista, he wouldn't want her. Only Caleb might not be so happy being just friends.

I really liked Caleb. He tries to hard to do the right thing and not hurt anyone. He knows how his life is going to go so he tries to stay away from Penny. Because it would never work no matter how much he might want it to. Only he can't stay away for long when she starts working her way into his life. The two of them were so cute together. What started as a no-strings fling becomes something more. Something so much more and you can really see how much these two care for each other. It was heartbreaking reading because you know what is coming, but you have to hope they can somehow figure out a way to make things work. Because when you find that person, someone who makes your life so much better, you don't want to let them go. I loved Penny and Caleb and their story. It was a fun read and I can't wait to read more from this author.

As a plus size woman, I’ve definitely had a lot of the same internal monologue the FMC has regarding insecurities. This was very relatable to me which made my breath hitch a few times.  The couple’s banter was good when it was fun and flirty. I now want to try a lavender after reading this.

4.5/5 I loved this book. I thought a Penny was a well thought out character, with quirks and flaws. I thought that Caleb was such an awesome guy and treated Penny how she deserved to be treated. I usually hate when characters don’t talk to each other, but with Caleb’s history it actually made sense here. This was a great book.

Meh. Started cute, fizzled out. Plot non existent. Felt like reading the picture perfect life all social media advertises these days: work from home, doing hobbies with friends, nice coffee shop, lattes and workouts, cute barista, a shadow of a conflict, but no stress, no tension and sadly, no physical chemistry.

Cute. The characters, except for Penny, were under developed. I found Penny to be really annoying wherever she got into her “I know what’s best for everyone” introspections. Overall, fast, easy read. Loved the epilogue.
