There is a lot of history here thats presented really quick. While I did wish some points (The organizing history of AIM specifically for me) were covered in more depth, nothing was out of context. Written beautifully. Necessary read, my new favorite nonfiction

One of the most beautifully written non-fiction books I have ever read. An excellent primer on the history of indigenous resistance, and full of references to many other works on indigenous history written by the people from those communities. This should be required reading in schools.

A powerful, meticulously-researched look at the long tradition of Indigenous resistance from the Missouri River basin and how it led to the protests at Standing Rock against the Dakota Access Pipeline.

This book provides an historical account of the Oceti Sakowin that is an excellent glimpse into the way settler colonialism functions at both the micro and macro levels. Please read this!
