I really like this series, I love the characters and the world building and I’m really intrigued by the plot. There were typos that I noticed especially as it got towards the end of the book which did bother me a bit because it would take me out of the flow of the story. Also I have more questions than answers now at the end of this but I do feel like the author does have a plan to tie up all the loose ends. Overall this kept me interested throughout the whole book and I was very invested. I’m really looking forward to seeing where the last book will take us!

I absolutely love Rooke and Soren together. I was left wanting more! I’m so sad I read this immediately after release because waiting for the next book is going to suck! J Bree is an incredible story writer. I was thoroughly entertained the whole book and I loved it. I think she’d be set if she got published. Fix the books and get them in stores!

4 stars for the lack of editing.

There were typos.

& parts of the dialogue were hard to tell who was speaking. The ending with the blood witches and the reborn witches was really hard to envision. Like are they standing in a field just face-off Twilight style or what? It seemed like Rooke, Soren, the goblin army and reborn witches were at a higher point over looking the regents soldiers and blood witches. It was just lacking detail that would make it easier to picture.

I love J Bree books and was really looking forward to this one, especially after how book 1 ended. I absolutely loved how much of an absolute simp Soren turned into and the protectiveness and jealousy just worked so well. I adored all the character growth we saw and how all the different parts of the story started to come together. All that said, this book was LONG and some of the parts dragged unnecessarily. I am still feeling conflicted on how the story ended and the major secret that was revealed. I'll def read more but am a little less excited about this series and might wait until it's completed to just binge it all instead of wait for each release.
