Love was exhausting. Love was exhilarating.
I could not put this book down. Riordan and Cassie have had eyes only for each other since the moment their eyes met in book 1, and finally we get to see this little ball of chaos make a play for her man. Under the mysterious threat still lurking in Deadwater, Cassie & Riordan have the battle Cassie's belief that her feelings for Riordan are an obsession that will fade, Riordan's revenge plans that he doesn't believe he will survive and the Skeleton Crew who have to decide if Riordan's loyalties lie with them. There were twists andx turns galore and I was shocked to discover who was behind it all. A great series - and I can't wait to return to Deadwater with more of the Skeleton Crew finding their happily ever afters.

Wow! This book blew my socks off. So many secrets revealed, connections forged and victims avenged. Riordan and Cassie’s story left me gasping, teary-eyed and smiling. From instant attraction, to trying to keep her at distance for her own protection, Riordan didn’t stand a chance to keep his heart safe from Cassie. She is truly a force of nature, a wild girl as Riordan calls her, who goes after what she wants with a relentless determination. He tops the list of what she wants. Cassie carries her own emotional bruises and scars that help her recognize those that Riordan hides under his tough, grumpy and fierce facade. Both are fiercely protective, loyal and determined to wreak havoc on those who are corrupted, abusive and exploitive, including his father and a serial killer preying on women in their community. They are not content to sit back and let others seek justice, revenge or recompense. Instead they want to be the ones taking action. Cassie may be petite and gorgeous, but she can mete out lethal punishment her one would never expect or see coming. Riordan finds her dedication to her new vocation to be a turn on, and he is content to take a more supportive role, watching her in action, protecting her flank and stepping in only when necessary to keep her safe. Make no mistake, for Cassie, and anyone else he cares for, he can be just as lethal.
Try as he might, Riordan cannot stay away from Cassie, or stop loving his little bloodthirsty, wild warrior. She fills all the holes in his heart, sees into the depths of his soul and accepts him as he is. He does exactly the same for her. They both have found a place to belong, a place to thrive with Arran, Connor, the skeleton crew and Cassie’s whole extended family, as well as her his sisters. They are one big, loyal and supportive family who have a common goal, though their methods of achieving that goal are unorthodox and definitely on the darker side. I was ecstatic to find the Dark Island Scots, Struan, Sin, Camden and Jamieson included in this book. They make it even more enjoyable to read. While the conclusion of this book is exceptional, I will admit that I want to know more about all the characters from this Body Count series that have found a place in my heart and memory.
I highly recommend this compelling book and the previous two books in this series to those who enjoy suspenseful romance on the darker side.

The last book of this trilogy.
Riordan and Cassie are both crazy. Really f*ck!ng crazy. Cassie is an absolute bada$$. I still see her as a small child, but she is an adult now. Just not when it comes to size, she is a gnome 🙈 Sorry, but that's just how it is and it's not me who made her just 5' 😎 But as small as she is, the more bada$$ she is. She is a ☠️ in learning. Yes, SHE not Riordan. He isn't much into all the gang stuff, at least not originally, but with his sister being in a relationship with the boss...
But it's not just that the two are crazy. I have to say Jolie Vines is too 🤣 In a good way of course. I expected a lot, but this? No. There is the murd€r mystery. And sure everyone who reads a mystery tries to solve it. But there is no f-way, at least not for me. I always have my suspicions, and often am right, but this time. There are just so many people and everyone has reasons.
This book has so many plot twists. I got not just even crazier, I got dizzy and got whiplashes (yes, plural 🙈).
I loved seeing all the DIS characters again 🥰 I already missed them so much. And the reactions of them to Riordan are so funny. I mean, you know how big brothers are with their baby sister and the guy who dingle dongles her 🙈 But on the other hand, the four are not a tiny bit prudish and they raised Cassie 😉
It's a dark romance, with a lot of 🔫🔪☠️, you know. But I laughed so much 🤣🙈 Not sure what that says about me. And I'm not sure if I want to know either 😎
And one thing that makes me really happy is, the series will get a new series, YAY 🥳🤩 We will get more of the Skeleton Crew.
If you haven't read the DIS series yet, I recommend reading it first, because otherwise there would be a lot of spoilers in this series. You don't need to, but just saying 😊

This series is non-stop!
Jolie’s books are always an adventure, and this one is definitely that. This is the final book in her Body Count series and it is awesome. She’s a thick book, but she’s filled with all the good stuff!!
Cassie and Rio’s story is definitely not a conventional one, but let’s face it, Cassie is definitely not the conventional FMC. I’m not going to say too much because spoilers are the worst, but I will say all of our questions will be answered, you just may have to wait until the very last page to get them.
I love the worlds that Jolie creates, they are never quite what they seem, they always keep you guessing and they definitely will keep you blushing. Read this series, read them in order, and you can thank me later!
