The epic highs (Andy and Nile heist, Nicky undercover civil war realness, Joe pulling a "drop it" on a whole bear) and lows (BOOKER 70s APOCALYPSE SEX NUN CULT???) of the Old Guard universe

A fun companion for anyone as obsessed with these characters as I am. We get a small peak at what our favorite immortal mercenaries are up to across time, paired with art styles unique to each story’s purpose.

A series of stories based in the Old Guard universe. These were a way to strengthen the depth of the characterizations. I found them to be, for the most part, compelling. I would gladly read more about the Old Guard.

Four stars exclusively for “We are under the eyes of God, my love. Anyone might see us. I dare say this is the loveliest crime we have ever committed.”

As anthologies go, this was your typical hit-or-miss. I liked the Rucka/Fernandez stories and Zanzibar best. The moon landing one, I could barely tell the difference between Nicky and Booker. I was disappointed with the Bendis story, that artwork was not it. And the heist one was good.

It's a good companion piece, but it didn't keep me interested like the first two volumes. Some of the stories were interesting, while others fell flat. It was nice to see their friendships/romances play out.

Overall, it's a quick read, but not one I'd come back to
