2.25⭐️ Sorry it just didn’t do it for me. I didn’t swoon not once. Historical romances are suppose to make you swoon and connect with the characters and I didn’t experience that. It wasn’t terrible but I only enjoyed it for the first 150 pages after that it just went downhill.
Could have been plotted better
Was a bit slow for me in the middle and their oblivious state irritated me seka but generally not bad

the DRAMA of this book is what kept me going. the last few chapters really were something. truly ms. julia was like what hijinks can i make gregory go through that are unlike the previous book? it was like an elevated version of the benedict drama imo.
not sure i was really invested in the romance between gregory and lucy, but i really liked lucy. there were parts of her that were deeply relatable and i appreciated that. also a favorite part of mine was the deep love gregory had for kate and when he told violet that anthony had been a good father to him... i may have shed a single tear about that.

now how the hell is the fourth son of a viscount paying for NINE children in 1840s england!! that must've been a hell of a dowry.
(now to the plot, this was almost too damn sad, julia was kind of mean for making lucy and gregory suffer in this second epilogue)

This wasn't my favorite Bridgerton story but I did like Gregory's determination once he figured out his feelings. A lot of complications could have been avoided if they both had been honest and upfront but that wouldn't make for an interesting read.
A slow beginning, but a somewhat coming of age story for Gregory, learning what it is the be a man and fight for his love.
