Woah. Just woah. I have never heard of any of these women (maybe it's because I was educated in the West) but this book was fascinating. The Civil War is not usually my area to read but female spies fascinate me. So I picked this up. It's definitely well worth the read because it does not read like a normal non fiction book! Karen Abbott weaves a tale between the four women that makes it read like a novel.
There were bits here and there that I thought didn't really need to be in there and just add word fodder (the book is long enough as is!) But overall it's a fantastic book and I highly recommend it!
