ok but this was the most satisfying end of a book I've recently read. did Geralt's hanza finally managed to cross Jaruga, the feat that they were trying to do for the whole book? NO. do they still remain idiots that they are, completely without the plan? YES.
and I LOVED it. the final scene? serious, very serious even because of Milva's loss of pregnancy in the middle of the battle, and yet pure comedy??? and those two tones coexist perfectly????? I don't know how Sapkowski does it. I srsly don't. There's just pure joy in every f* word.
(also CAHIR. I love this sad boy and his Nilfgaardian upbringing.)

Baptism of Fire (The Witcher #3) by Andrzej Sapkowski is another great installment of an entertaining fantasy series. It's good to jump back into it because it's been too long. I missed these characters. I wish I could say I preferred the narrator a little more though in this particular volume.
